Delete your account

Last updated 28 September 2026

You can have your Forgeboard account and its personal data deleted at any time. This page says how, what goes, and what a workspace you belonged to keeps.

1. Before you start

  • Just want to leave a workspace? Ask a workspace administrator to remove you from Members. Your account stays and you can be invited back.
  • Own a workspace? An account that is the only owner of a workspace cannot be deleted while the workspace has other members — transfer ownership first, or ask us to delete the workspace as well.
  • Only want some of your data removed? You do not have to close your account — see deleting some of your data below.
  • Want a copy first? Ask for an export in the same email; we send it before deleting.

2. How to delete your account

In the Forgeboard app: open Account, choose Delete account, type DELETE and, if you have one, your password. The account is deleted immediately and you are signed out everywhere.

Without the app, or if you cannot sign in:

  1. Email support@sedintechnologies.com from the email address on your account, with the subject “Delete my Forgeboard account”.
  2. We reply to the same address to confirm it is you. If you cannot receive email at that address, sign in and tell us from a session we can verify.
  3. Once confirmed, the account is deleted within 30 days and we tell you when it is done.

Either route removes the same things, listed below.

3. What is deleted

  • Your name, email address, profile picture and sign-in credentials, including two-factor secrets and backup codes.
  • Every session, API token and connected sign-in (Google, GitHub) belonging to the account.
  • Push tokens for your phones, so no further notifications are sent.
  • Your membership of every workspace, and personal settings such as saved filters and notification preferences.

4. What a workspace keeps

Work you did inside a workspace belongs to that workspace, in the same way an email you sent to a colleague stays in their inbox after you leave. Tickets, comments, documents and other records you created are kept by the workspace, with your name replaced by “Former member”, until the workspace deletes them under its own rules. Audit-log entries that record what you did are kept, because they exist to answer later questions about what happened.

Deleted data can persist in backups for up to 30 days before those are overwritten. See the retention section of the Privacy Policy.

5. Deleting some of your data without closing your account

You can have individual items removed and keep using Forgeboard. There are two routes, and neither one closes your account.

Do it yourself, in the app or on the web

  • A comment you wrote: open the work item, find your comment, tap or click Delete, then confirm. It is removed along with anything attached to it.
  • A chat message you sent: open the message and choose Delete. Only the author can do this, so nobody else can remove your words for you.
  • Your profile picture: Account, then Settings, then remove the picture.
  • A device or browser you no longer use: sign that session out, which also deletes its notification token so nothing further is sent to it.

Ask us

  1. Email support@sedintechnologies.com from the address on your account, saying what you want removed.
  2. We reply to that same address to confirm it is you.
  3. We remove it and tell you when it is done, within 30 days of confirming.

What is removed, and what stays

  • Removed: the items you delete or name, together with any files or images attached to them.
  • Kept: audit-log entries recording that something happened, because they exist to answer later questions about what happened; and records the workspace itself controls, such as issues raised about a customer, which the workspace owner decides about.
  • Retention: removed data can persist in backups for up to 30 days before those are overwritten. See the retention section of the Privacy Policy.

6. If you never had an account

If you gave a workspace your details through a public form, that workspace controls those records. Email support@sedintechnologies.com and we will pass your request to the workspace owner and help them delete it.
