Exporting data
Download the whole workspace as JSON, or issues, insights, reports and form responses as CSV.
Settings → Export data
You can take your data out at two sizes: the whole workspace as one JSON file, for a backup or a move, or a single list as a CSV spreadsheet — issues, the Insights numbers, a custom report or a form's responses.
Export the whole workspace
- Open Settings and choose Export data under Security & data.
- Press Download export.
Owners and Admins can do this, signed in through the app — an API token cannot download the whole workspace. Guests never can. The file is named after your workspace and today's date, for example acme-export-2026-10-16.json, and every export is recorded in the audit log.
What the workspace file contains
- Members and roles
- Projects, their teams, Definition of Done, sprints and releases
- Workflows, statuses, trackers, priorities, labels and custom fields
- Every issue with its comments, checklists, links, time logged and custom field values
- Docs, goals and initiatives
- A list of uploaded files: name, size and where each is stored
Export issues to CSV
- Open Issues and set the filters, search and sort you want.
- Press Export CSV.
The file holds every issue that matches, not just the page on screen, up to 5,000 rows; past that you are told to narrow the filters. Columns: Key, Title, Type, Status, Priority, Project, Assignee, Reporter, Labels, Points, Sprint, Release, Due, Created and Updated.
Other CSV exports
- Insights — Export downloads the page's current numbers, one metric per row. See Insights.
- Report Builder — on a saved report, CSV downloads its result, one column per grouping and measure. See The report builder.
- Forms — Download CSV on a form's responses gives one row per response: when it came in, the issue it became, who sent it, and one column per question. See Forms.
- Report schedules email the productivity report as a CSV on a cadence. See Report schedules.
Opening CSV files safely
Any cell that would start with =, +, - or @ is written with a leading apostrophe, so a spreadsheet shows it as text instead of running it as a formula. Titles and names are typed by people, and this stops one of them from becoming a live link or calculation in your spreadsheet.
