Issue templates
Give people a prefilled starting point — type, title, description, priority and labels — when they create an issue.
Admin → Templates
An issue template is a ready-made starting point for a new issue: its type, a title hint, a description outline, a priority and labels. People pick one when they create an issue instead of starting from a blank form.
Create a template
- Open Admin and choose the Templates tab.
- In New template, enter a Name — this is what people see when choosing.
- Pick the Type and a Priority (or leave Project default).
- Under Project, leave All projects or choose one project.
- Optionally fill in a Title placeholder, a Description (for example headings for steps to reproduce and expected behaviour) and Labels.
- Choose Create template.
Use the pencil icon to edit a template and Save, or the bin icon to delete it. Issues already created from a template are not affected.
Using a template
In the new-issue panel, Start from a template lists the templates for the chosen project: its own and the workspace-wide ones. Picking one sets the type, fills in the description, shows the title placeholder, and applies the priority and labels it carries. If you have already typed a description, you are asked before it is replaced.
Project scope
A template pinned to a project is offered only there; one set to All projects is offered everywhere. Only labels that fit the template's project can be chosen.
Restore defaults
Every workspace starts with three templates — Bug report, Feature request and Task. They are ordinary templates you can edit or delete. Restore defaults adds back any of them that are missing and leaves the rest alone.
Recurring work
The same tab has a Recurring work section, which raises an issue from a template on a schedule. A schedule needs a template, so create one here first.
Who can manage templates
Everyone who can see issues can use templates. Creating, editing, deleting and restoring them needs the project update permission — Owners and Admins by default.
