Your account

Your profile, password, two-factor authentication, signed-in devices, and deleting your account.

Settings → Profile and Security

Your account is you: your name, picture, sign-in and security settings. It stays the same in every workspace you belong to. Open it from your avatar menu (Profile) or from Settings.

Your profile

In Settings → Profile:

  • Avatar: choose Edit to upload a PNG or JPG of up to 4 MB, or Remove to go back to your initials.
  • Display name: how other people see you.
  • Timezone: used for dates and for your quiet hours. Search by city or GMT offset.
  • Email is shown but cannot be changed here. Contact support to change it.

Choose Save changes. The avatar saves as soon as it uploads.

Change your password

  1. Open Settings → Security and choose Change password.
  2. Enter your current password, then the new one twice. It must be at least 8 characters.
  3. Choose Update password.

Forgotten it? Choose Forgot? on the sign-in page and Send recovery link. The link works for one hour.

Two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication asks for a code from an authenticator app as well as your password when you sign in.

  1. In Settings → Security, choose Enable two-factor authentication.
  2. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, Authy or 1Password. If you cannot scan it, enter the key shown under it.
  3. Enter the 6-digit code the app shows and choose Verify & enable.
  4. Save your backup codes with Copy all or Download. Tick the box to confirm you have saved them, then choose Done.
Backup codes are shown only once, and each works once. Use one to sign in if you lose your phone (Use a backup code instead on the sign-in page). Regenerate backup codes gives you a new set and cancels the old one.

To turn it off, choose Disable and confirm with your password or a current code.

Signed-in devices

Active sessions, under Settings → Security, lists every browser and device signed in to your account, with its IP address and when it was last active. This device marks the one you are using.

  • Choose Sign out beside a session to end it.
  • Choose Sign out … other devices to end every session except this one.

When you sign in, Keep me signed in for 30 days is ticked by default. Untick it on a shared computer.

Delete your account

On the web, the Delete account button in Settings → Security is not available. You can delete your account yourself in the mobile app:

  1. Open Account and choose Delete account.
  2. Enter your password, if your account has one, and type DELETE.
  3. Choose Delete my account. It is deleted immediately and you are signed out everywhere.

Without the app, follow the email route on the Delete your account page.

  • Deleted: your profile, sign-in details and two-factor codes, your sessions and devices, your workspace memberships, and personal settings such as saved filters.
  • Kept: the work you did inside a workspace. Your issues and comments stay, shown as "Former member".
  • If you are the only Owner of a workspace that has other members, transfer ownership first.
