Figma

Connect a project to Figma and pin design frames to its issues and docs.

Project → Settings → Figma

The Figma integration pins design frames to issues and docs, with a thumbnail that opens the frame in Figma. Each project connects its own Figma account, so one team's connection never affects another's.

Before you start

Available on plans that include Figma Integration. Connecting a project needs permission to edit that project — its lead or a workspace admin. Settings → Integrations shows a Figma card with Open a project, because the connection is made per project.

Connect a project

  1. Open the project and choose Settings in its header.
  2. In the Figma section, choose Connect to Figma.
  3. Sign in to Figma and approve access. You come back to the project settings with Figma connected.

The section then shows Connected as @handle and who connected it. Disconnect removes the connection.

Add frames to an issue

  1. Open an issue in the connected project and find the Figma section.
  2. Choose Add from Figma.
  3. Pick a file from Recent files (files already embedded in the workspace), or paste a link into Paste a Figma link… and choose Open.
  4. Choose a page, tick the frames you want, and choose Add frame (or Add N frames).
A link copied from a specific frame opens with that frame already ticked. A link the picker cannot open is sent as-is and embedded if Figma recognises it.

Add frames to a doc

In a doc that belongs to a connected project, the Figma embeds area has Embed frame: paste a Figma file or frame URL and choose Add. A doc that is not attached to a project has no connection to use.

Viewing and removing

  • Anyone who can see the issue sees its frames, even if the project is later disconnected.
  • Click a thumbnail to open the frame in Figma.
  • Adding and removing frames needs permission to add attachments, and a connected project.
