Insights

Throughput, cycle time, velocity, burndown and more for one project or the whole workspace, over a date range you choose.

Insights

Insights is one page of delivery numbers: how much was finished, how long it took, how sprints are burning down and who carries the load. Look at the whole workspace or narrow it to one project, over the last 7, 30 or 90 days or any dates you pick.

Open Insights

  1. Choose Insights in the sidebar, under Progress.
  2. Pick a scope in the project menu at the top right: All projects or a single project.
  3. Pick a window: 7 days, 30 days (the default) or 90 days. For exact dates choose Custom, set From and To, and press Apply.

Anyone who can read issues can open Insights, except guests. You only ever see numbers for projects you can open — a private project counts only for its members.

Which issues are counted

The window selects issues by when they were created. An issue counts as done when its status is a done status. Everything below the tiles is worked out from that set, so "Throughput" for the last 30 days means issues created in those 30 days that are now done.

On a busy workspace the page reads at most the first 1,000 issues in the window and says so. Narrow the range or pick a single project to get exact numbers.

The summary tiles

  • Throughput — issues done, with the story points they carried.
  • Completion — done issues as a percentage of all issues in the window.
  • Cycle time — the average number of days from an issue being created to its last update, across done issues. Each issue counts as at least one day.
  • Open — issues not yet done, with how many are in the Blocked status.
  • Epics — how many issues in the window are epics.
  • Active sprints — sprints not yet closed, out of all sprints in scope.
  • Releases — releases in scope, and how many of them have shipped.
  • Blocked rate — blocked issues as a percentage of all issues.

Charts

  • Velocity — story points completed in each of the project's last six closed sprints. With All projects selected it shows one Current bar: the points done in the window.
  • Throughput — issues closed per day across the window (grouped into at most 30 bars, so a 90-day window shows three days per bar).
  • Created vs resolved — issues opened against issues closed, per day. Needs a single project; the window can be at most 180 days.
  • Priority distribution — how many issues sit at each priority, open and closed together.
  • Sprint burndown — story points remaining against the ideal line for one sprint. Needs a single project. It opens on the sprint that is running, or the most recently closed one; switch sprints with the menu on the card.
  • Workload — story points assigned to each person in the selected sprint, split into done and remaining.
  • Top contributors — the five people with the most done issues, and their points.

Delivery and code review

Below the charts, DORA metrics rate your delivery on four standard measures, and Code review shows the median time from a pull request opening to its first review, plus how many pull requests each reviewer looked at. Both are explained in DORA metrics.

Time and cost

Available on plans that include Time Tracking & Worklogs. The Time & cost card lists the time each person logged in the window and, where their hourly rate is set on their membership, what that time cost. A person with no rate shows a dash rather than zero.

These figures are returned only to people who can both read reports and see every customer's data — Owners, Admins and Auditors by default. For anyone else the card reads "No time logged in this range".

Export what you see

Press Export at the top of the page to download the current numbers as a CSV file: one row per metric, with the scope, the window, every tile, the priority counts, the top contributors, the four DORA values and, where available, time logged per person. See Exporting data for other exports.
