The issue page
Everything on an open issue: fields, description, checklists and Definition of Done, worklogs, attachments, comments, mentions, activity and pull requests.
Issues → an issue
Opening an issue shows everything about it in one place: its fields and description on the left, and the conversation and history on the right. From a list or board it opens as a panel; Open as full page or a direct link gives it a page of its own.
Saving changes
Type, Status, Priority, Assignee, Sprint and Release save as soon as you pick a value. Everything else — title, description, dates, story points, the time estimate, labels, parent issue and custom fields — is saved when you choose Save at the top.
Fields
The field grid shows Type, Status, Priority, Assignee, Reporter, Start date, Due date, Story points, Track time (the time estimate, written like 2h 30m), Labels, Parent issue, Sprint and Release. An unassigned issue offers Assign to me — opening an issue never assigns it to you by itself. Custom fields are under Fields.
Description
Write the description in place. The toolbar offers bold, italic, code and bulleted lists, and links in the text open when clicked.
Checklists and Definition of Done
Checklists hold lists you tick off — test cases, release steps. Add a checklist with a title, then add items to it; hovering a ticked item shows who ticked it.
If the project has a Definition of Done, each new issue gets a copy of it as a checklist called Definition of Done. Changing the project's list later does not change checklists already on issues. Depending on the project's setting, unticked items can stop the issue reaching a done status — see Moving issues through a workflow.
Worklog
On plans that include Time Tracking & Worklogs, the Worklog section records time spent. Enter a duration such as 1h 30m, an optional note, and choose Log time. You can delete your own entries; Owners and Admins can delete anyone's.
Attachments, designs and code
- Attachments — choose Add to upload a file, click a file to open it.
- Figma — pinned design frames, when Figma is connected. See Figma.
- Branch and Pull requests — on plans that include GitHub Integration, create a branch for the issue and see linked pull requests with their state (Open, Merged or Closed). The project needs a linked repository. See Source control.
Comments and mentions
The Comments tab holds the discussion. Type in the box and choose Comment, or press Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on a Mac). Type @ to mention someone — they are notified. You can reply to a comment, react to it, attach a file, and edit or delete your own comments. Watchers are notified of new comments.
If the issue came from a chat thread, a Post to option also sends your comment to that thread.
Watchers, activity and live updates
- The eye button in the header starts or stops watching; the number beside it is how many people watch.
- The Activity tab is the issue's history: who changed what, and when.
- Avatars in the header show who else has the issue open right now.
- Lists and boards refresh on their own when someone else changes an issue.
